Abhyanga massage

health and well-being

Description

Abhyanga is a massage of the whole body using hot oil (Sesame*) or specific Tailam oils*. It is one of the most classic massages in Ayurveda. Each part of the body is massaged in depth, from the feet to the head. The sequence of movements respects certain rules (direction of energy flow, particular progression, etc.). There is also a degree of creativity on the part of the masseur, who listens to the body of the person being massaged.

The art of massage unfolds with complete freedom and respect for tradition.

Benefits of Abhyanga

Regular practice helps to maintain health and well-being on a daily basis.

As the sessions progress, concentration improves, as does the management of stress and emotions. Cell regeneration is encouraged, resulting in multiple benefits (digestion, pain, memory, fatigue, skin….). Acting on the nervous system, it leads to better, deeper sleep.

It balances all the doshas, harmonising Vata in particular.

It softens and nourishes the skin and muscles, calms the nervous system, provides deep relaxation and soothes physical pain. Thanks to its large, all-encompassing movements, it facilitates the body’s various circulatory systems (blood, energy, lymphatic).

Relaxation is effective, leading to better digestion and elimination.

It increases Prana, strength, flexibility and the body’s physical resistance, as well as concentration, self-confidence and longevity.
